Do you want to work on literacy initiatives for the youngest children while simultaneously being part of the library's daily operations? We are now looking for a colleague who wants to strengthen our team.

We are looking for you who have a strong commitment to children and young people, as well as to the library's role in society.

The work primarily targets literacy initiatives for children aged 0–6 years and their adults, but also includes traditional library work.

In this role, you will work both at Vetlanda Library and on the Book Bus. Vetlanda Library has been newly renovated and offers excellent opportunities to develop the operations. You will become part of this work and contribute, among other things, to developing new forms of collaboration with other actors.

Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

• working on literacy with children aged 0–6 years and their adults
• working with media management, program activities, and patron guidance
• contributing to the library's daily operations and development

You work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and partners. The role requires a pedagogical approach and the ability to inspire children and adults to read based on their different needs and conditions.

As a person, you thrive in meetings with people and have an attitude that makes visitors want to return. You take initiative, contribute to developing the operations, and get things done. You are flexible, adapt easily to changes, and work in a structured manner with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.

Work during evenings and weekends occurs. The assignment involves mobile work and requires good physical fitness as heavy lifting is included.

The position is a permanent employment at 50 percent with an start date of August 17th or as agreed. There is a possibility of increasing the employment percentage during 2027.

Qualifications

• Degree in Library and Information Science or Preschool Teacher Education.
• You are proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• Experience working with children aged 0–6 years and their adults, as well as a B-class driver's license, are meritorious.
• We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
